What a treat!
Stafford Bungalow is the old tea plantation owners house, it's been recently renovated & is just beautiful! Spotlessly clean & I can only echo previous comments about all the little touches which make it an extra special place to stay - flowers, hot water bottles etc.
The manager took us on a hike around the tea plantation which was great fun & there's also a tennis court which we enjoyed.
The bungalow is tucked away in a quiet spot away with the most fabulous views across the plantations, it's definitely one for those who want some peace & tranquility. Big thanks to the staff to looked after us so well.

A wonderful place to retreat and relax in a very special setting. Tea country is magical in Sri Lanka and the Stafford Bungalow is very special, reminiscent of colonial days with caring, attentive yet unobtrusive staff.
Each of the four bedrooms are spotless, spacious and sumptuously appointed. When we were there, the minister popped in to approve the place for the Prime Minister's visit. If I had any suggestion, it would be to improve the western cuisine options but if you enjoy Sri Lankan fare at every meal, you will have no complaint…unless you need a reliable internet connection!
The location and the surroundings were breathtaking. The bungalow had a perfect blend of antique and modern architecture. It was kept in a very clean and nice condition. Beautifully landscaped garden was just right for relaxation. A warm welcome by Parakrama and his staff was the perfect beginning you could ask for. Food prepared by Suranga and his team was delicious and had a good variety. Suranga had a rare talent for Innovative table, bed and other decore. Entire staff was very helpful and friendly. Children had a lovely time in the play area while we enjoyed the warm and cozy club house built separately from the bungalow which we thought was quite unique. In short everything about the stay was just amazing.
A special thanks to Dilini (coordinator- Stafford Bungalow) for the excellent support starting from the reservation till (even after) we checked-out from the bungalow.
Excellent bungalow with very friendly staff!
We drove up with rain pouring all around but once inside the Stafford Bungalow the warmth of the premises and the welcome from the staff made sure that the mood perked up considerably. Stafford is a well maintained bungalow and it has he a colonial heritage which is evident in its' interior and architecture. Rooms are nice and spacious and clean linen is provided and refreshed daily. The living area provides space to relax with a good book and a freshly brewed cup of tea. The tennis courts adjoining the bungalow is a perfect way to get some exercise and you can take a pleasing walk on roads that run through fields of tea.
The food is excellent, ask the cook to make scones and he will oblige with a smile. The staff are excellent and look after the guests very well. It is truly a place to relax and unwind away from the usual hectic routine.

A great experience for family and friends!
When you reach the bungalow, in the Camellia fields, an amazing view welcomes you... The air scents tea, temperature is fresh, the garden is filled with fine colourful plants, the bungalow is elegant, very clean, staff is polite, ready to take care of your requests (Parakkrama, the housekeeper, will be happy to take you out for a nice walk in the fields!). Food is superb (Thanks Suranga!!!!), rooms are carefully cured, you can also find pieces of history in the library... and enjoy the silence of the night in very comfortable beds.
